New Wave Services was established with the prime objective of radically transforming e-commerce by recreating the "shopping experience" and delivering it on the Internet. The promise of the Internet to overcome the limitations of Main Street shopping have failed to materialize. Instead of shopping prospective customers are forced to "Search" and are overwhelmed with results and multiple different buying approaches which confuse, hamper and hinder the individual and the retailer from achieving their objectives.
One figure says it all. Over 70% of all items placed in electronic shopping baskets are abandoned. We have no information as to how many customers do not even get to the point of selecting items to abandon! If this were to happen in a major department store there would be uproar, why should we allow it to happen online. It wastes individuals' and retailers' time and as we all know time equals money. There has to be a better way...
